Dave joined Tom Collins Insurance Agency in 2019 as an Agent and Vice President of Operations, following successful tenures in the military as well as the private sector. Prior to returning to Vero Beach for the opportunity to continue his father’s legacy leading the agency, Dave started his insurance career in 2015 as a Commercial Underwriter at a national carrier. He later joined a multibillion-dollar real estate, transportation, energy and investment company headquartered in Denver, where he served as Senior Risk Analyst, helping manage a complex insurance and risk management program as part of a small team.

Now, as the agency’s President and owner, Dave primarily focuses on leading the Tom Collins Insurance Agency Team and advising the area’s High Net Worth families, Business Owners, and other community leaders on their insurance needs.

Born and raised in Vero Beach, Dave graduated from Vero Beach High School in 2002 and then West Point four years later, earning a Bachelor of Science in American Politics. In 2018 he earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Colorado – Denver. He holds the Associate in General Insurance designation.

Dave served in numerous leadership positions as an officer in the United States Army during over eight years of Active Duty from 2006 – 2015. He deployed multiple times to Afghanistan, Iraq, and other countries in the Middle East in support of tactical and strategic regional objectives while assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment, 4th Infantry Division and 1st Cavalry Division.

Away from work, Dave foremost enjoys spending time with his wife Monica and their four children. He is a tennis player and an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. Dave is an active supporter of several charitable organizations supporting Veterans, as well as local Conservation, Children’s and Health initiatives.
